Moles are small skin growths caused by clusters of pigmented cells, typically appearing as skin-tone, brown or black spots on the skin. Skin tags are soft, benign growths that hang off the skin, often forming in areas where there are skin folds, such as the neck, armpits, and eyelids. While moles are usually harmless, some may change over time and require monitoring. Skin tags are harmless, but can sometimes become irritated due to friction.
