What is the Microneedling with PRP Facial Process Like?
First, one of our licensed aestheticians draws a small amount of your blood, just like at the doctor’s office. It is then placed in a centrifuge, which isolates the platelets used in the procedure.
Once the topical numbing agent placed on your skin takes effect, the microneedling process can begin. Using a small handheld device, microneedles penetrate your skin approximately a millimeter deep in a repetitive stamping motion. This process stimulates collagen and elastin production and allows for deeper infusion of the Platelet-Rich Plasma, which is then applied directly to the microneedled areas.
The vast majority of patients report nothing more than a mild tickling or pinching sensation, and in approximately 30 minutes, the process is complete!
What Can I Expect After the Treatment?
Your skin may retain a mild pink hue for a day or two after treatment, a bit longer for those with sensitive skin. Tighter, smoother, more glowing skin is typically noticed within the first week.
The number of recommended treatments depends on the condition of your skin and any scars you may be treating. Follow-up treatments may be recommended several weeks apart, and maintenance treatments can be scheduled every 6-9 months.
