    anti-racism hands

Over the past few weeks, we have witnessed protests in the U.S. and many parts of the world, standing up against the racism, prejudice and inequality that continue to exist in society, particularly towards the Black and Brown community.

ASLC has always been committed to diversity and inclusion. Our mission is to deliver our services to everyone who comes through our doors.

Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter at Aesthetic Skin & Laser Center. Black Lives Matter in every community. At Aesthetic Skin & Laser Center there is no room for racism or discrimination of any kind. We are committed to anti-racism and achieving equality together.

Since opening our doors more than 20 years ago, we have worked to foster an environment where all individuals feel welcome. Inclusion and diversity are at the core of our purpose – to care for people so they can achieve their best.

When you see an injustice, to stand by and witness and do nothing is to be complicit.

When you see or hear something that’s not right, at least let your voice be heard.

To be most effective, you need to educate yourself. There are countless videos you can watch for free on YouTube.

Of the hundreds of books we could list here, the following three books are often referenced as some of the most accessible and useful.

    1. White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo
    2. How To Be An Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi
    3. The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander

This video is heartbreaking and really a must-see.
